Accepted Student Checklist:

Activate Your MyPace Portal

All Pace University students have access to their own student portal. Your MyPace Portal will grant you access to Blackboard, Online course registration, the Financial Aid system, and a variety of other useful resources. See Pace’s Account Activation page to set-up your MyPace Portal.

Pay Your Tuition Deposit

To reserve your space in the class and secure your financial aid, you must submit a one-time, non-refundable deposit of $100 which is applied towards your tuition bill.

Pay your deposit online (Refer to your admission e-mail for your username)

You also have the option of submitting a check/money order made payable to “Pace University” in the amount of $100 which can be mailed to the New York City campus:

Register for Classes

Registration opens several weeks before the semester begins. You will be notified via e-mail to schedule an appointment with your advisor through the Online Scheduling Tool. This meeting will provide up-to-date information related to your degree audit as well as registration advisement. Make sure to select “New Student Appointment” when scheduling an appointment. If you have not yet paid your tuition deposit, make sure to do so prior to your advising appointment. Nursing students should contact their advisor directly. Follow the Online Photo ID submission instructions here to upload your photo to Blackboard for your online courses.

View the Pace Online Academic Calendar for start dates.

Technology Requirements

Please review the list of Technology Requirements for Pace Online students, which will fully prepare you for your first semester as an online student.

Set-up Your Pace E-mail

All correspondence from Pace University will be sent via your Pace e-mail at Pace’s Microsoft Outlook Web Application.

Refer to your admission e-mail for your username and then add “@pace.edu.” If you would like to set-up e-mail forwarding from your Pace e-mail to another e-mail account, please visit Pace’s Apps, Download and Account Management page.

Purchase Your Textbooks

Textbook information will be searchable via the Textbooks link in the MyPace Portal approximately one month prior to course start dates. Books can be purchased through the Pace bookstore or through any textbook seller website.

Access Your Courses

All courses can be accessed through Blackboard. Courses open the first day of class so you will not see them listed on Blackboard until then.

Complete the Online Seminar

All new students will be required to complete a 2-week, 1-credit mandatory Online Seminar (excluding Pace Online Nursing Students). Please check the Pace Online Academic Calendar for dates. Registration for the Online Seminar will be processed at the same time students register for classes with their advisor. The following textbook is required to complete this mandatory online orientation: E-learning Companion – 4th edition | ISBN-12: 978-1133316312

Check for Holds on MyPace Portal

Some holds may be placed on your MyPace Portal account due to missing admission documentation. They could include:

  • Proof of high school graduation – a copy of high school transcript or diploma is needed
  • Official and final transcripts

Mail all official transcripts to the Pace Online Admission office and fax copies of your high school diploma/transcripts to (914) 989-8681.

File Your Financial Aid

Students enrolled in the Pace Online degree completion programs are not eligible for institutional scholarships and are only eligible for the Federal Direct Stafford Loans and a Pell grant. The federal loans are offered in both a subsidized loan and an unsubsidized loan option depending on need. For more information about the student loans, please visit the U.S. Department of Education’s Financial Student Aid web site. The Pace University code for the New York City campus is 002791. Once a FAFSA application is submitted, accepted students will receive their Financial Aid package by mail approximately two-three weeks later. Students can also access their Financial Aid package online, directly from their MyPace Portal account. View a guide on how to review and accept your financial aid on MyPace Portal (PDF).

If you have been selected verification, there may be some additional documentation you must submit before your financial aid can be processed. You view what documents you specifically need to submit on MyPace Portal. For more information about the verification, please visit our Financial Aid web site.

Once students have submitted their FAFSA application, financial aid packaging questions should be directed to the Financial Aid Office by e-mailing financialaid@pace.edu, calling 1-877-672-1830 or submitting a help desk ticket. Please be sure to specify your Pace Online classification to receive degree completion-specific answers to your financial aid questions. Check Your Transfer Credit Evaluation

Once you’ve been offered admission, you will receive your Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation (PTCE) from Admissions via e-mail within one week. This PDF document will articulate all approved and pending transfer credit which your Advisor has access to and will use to assist with registration. Please note special instructions on your PTCE such as submission of a course syllabi or final semester grades. PTCE’s will only be generated to students with official transcripts on file.

Consider Applying for PLA Credit

You may eligible to apply for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit for life/work experience gained from opportunities such as conducting training programs, creating company manuals, extensive volunteer work, and active involvement in political campaigns and/or public performances. Interested students must first meet with an advisor in the Adult and Continuing Education Office of Adult Academic Programs and Services to determine eligibility for PLA. Contact Gregg Ramsay at gramsay@pace.edu or by phone at (914) 923-2847.

Mathematics and English Placement Exam

Some Pace Online students may be required to take a placement exam for us to determine the best Math and English courses for you. You will notified by admissions if it is necessary for you to take a placement exam. Check your Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation email for instructions. There is no fee for either exam.
